I hate this time of year...

November November November! It's a love hate relationship. On one hand it's the month in which I bid my best two wheeled friend adieu for the long cold winter. It's the month in which I believe winter truly starts. Most of the fall color has fallen into piles of drudgery about my lawn. Driving home from work with some sun in the sky has taking it's leave. Soon I'll be waking up an hour early so I can make a futile attempt to start my snow blower. At least I get the pleasure of having the occasional snowball exchange with the kids. Four and a half months of taking twenty minutes to get ready to go out for a pack of cigarettes. Gray murky slush and enough salt to turn "the Lake" into a "Sea" fill every crevice of your vehicle with future rust.

On the other hand, winter is such a beautiful time of year when the season truly shows itself. It doesn't happen much so anymore but that first Saturday morning after a grand winter storm is so amazing! Trees covered in snow, thinly walled atop each branch. The plows haven't yet cleared the snow from the streets. Kids stirring early to be the first to build the best fort on the block. Father, pipe in one hand wife in the other stands proud over his domain. lol! Anyone who lives in the northern Midwest knows this day like it's their own birthday.

Not only were the Saturday's fun but so were the weeks. Can you remember waking early to watch patiently as the news man reads off the school closing for the day? That grand feeling as they announce your school. No books, no boring classes, no bells or crappy school lunches at least for one glorious day. A day filled with snowball fights leading to a field-trip to our favorite neighborhood sledding hill. What a memory that is.

Lastly on a more personal note September 30th ends the fiscal business year. That means I get to procure a crap load, and let me reiterate, a CRAP LOAD of new equipment. See, most of the year I spend sitting in front of my computer reading up on new technologies. When I get bored of that I head to digg.com and read about what that odd sort over there finds interesting. But this time of year I get to dirty my hands. To do what I originally got into this business for in the first place. God, I love the smell of new hardware.

Welp, I've got one more episode of Deadwood to watch and then I'm off to bed. I'll most likely catch the few of you who actually do find what I say interesting on Friday or Saturday if I get new ink.

Peace!

Lost

In the depths I sit pondering the dragon,
consumed by his fiery breath.

I've awoken the giant it's blistery skin scrapes at my soul
plays mesmerizing games with my sanity.

I torture myself in a veiled attempt
to keep my assumptions from consuming me.

The hows and whys are a conundrum
they eat at me, am I inculpable? I am?

Wasn't it I that had intercourse with apathy herself
while the macrocosm played a sick inequitable game?

Apathy, sweet Apathy,
it's her amiable embrace that encapsulates my substance.

But she lies, her bite gnaws at me tormenting me
like the carnal escapades of the matriarchal Mantis.

I've wandered. I've wasted.
My intentionally delusional clarity beget ramparts.

But, it was the dragon who commissioned disregard
for the consumption of the maiden.

His lack of inculcation and countenance
allowed her to escape to the comfort an inextricable place.

The anger swells in all that is my essence
but still no hatred. Why?

About a girl...

I wrote this one years ago when I was but a meer pup with the vocabulary of a chimpanze.

Anyway...

You were in my dreams again last night. It felt so real…

I see you standing naked in a field of wild flowers. There's no sound around but that of the wind blowing through the distant trees. I close my eyes and imagine that I am the wind, free to roam the endless expanse of the world. Like a bird I would soar atop the mountains, and over the oceans. I am tempted by the freedom, but instead I come back to you. I gently wrap myself around you and flow through your hair like a wheat field on a warm summer afternoon. My warm touch gives you goose bumps as I surround you. I want to kiss you. I want to feel the warm caress of your lips upon mine. I want to run my fingers down your body sensing every part. But alas, I am just the wind.

Your smell, that amazing smell... like the fragrance of the first day of spring. I feel like a giddy school boy sitting in class on that first warm day of the year. The teacher opens the windows and teases me with the overwhelming aroma of melting snow in the brilliant sunshine; that kind of smell that brings back all those delightful memories of summers past. I lose myself in the moment, nothing else around me matters, not the words on the blackboard, or the books on my desk… I daydream of what the future will bring, where I'll go, what I'll do, what adventure will ensue.

Your eyes, the color of spring rain clouds against the mid morning sky, They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, but yours are the doorways to eternity. I look into them and I fall. I fall so hard that I feel as though I am going to crash strait through the earth; strait through and fly out the other side to be lost forever in the emptiness of the cosmos.

Then it comes, that voice, that beautiful beautiful voice, like the sound of a million canaries singing in unison. Like the tempest of a great composer, it blasts me back. I reach for you as I tumble, fighting the whirlwind, but I am lost. You fade into the distance and disappear. My world turned upside-down I become as still as a frightened fawn. All I have left is the memory, that image in my head, an image that will never fade, always reminding me of you.

There's nothing I can do about it.

I am so sick of hearing people spout this useless excuse for their own laziness! Our world is the way it is because people don't care. As long as we can go to McDonalds, watch American Idol, and have a delusion of freedom we're happy. Well it does effect your life.

1. FDA approves drugs that are not safe and turns away those that can help you.
2. IRS steals money from you to pay for wars a vast majority of the population doesn't want.
3. Corporate fat cats pollute the air you breathe, the water you drink, and the information you read/watch/hear.
4. Government backed Insurance companies rape your pay check every month to support their yacht... I mean your health care.
5. The government RIGS elections!
6. They've removed your 4th and 6th amendment rights. Speedy Trial by jury and illegal search and seizure. Don't believe me, ask any American citizen who's imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay. Oh wait, that's right, you can't cause they're "terrorists"
7. Gas prices... Oh Yes, gas prices. Georgie can let his good ole boy buddies lose money now can he? Why do ya think they had themselves a good ole down south lynchin' with Saddam?

Our government knows you don't care and they're happy with that. As long as the public remains sedated the government can go on acting unscrupulously and continue to ignore your interests. You say you can't do anything about it? Bull shite! Get off you lazy ass and make your voice heard. Write your congressman and senators. When they don't do what you want make your voice heard again when you go vote for their opponent. The presidential election is not the only election there is you know. To be quite honest I think the statement, "There's nothing I can do about it" is just an excuse for laziness.

Worse case scenario, they cart you and your pretty little family off to a camp for "registration". Don't believe it? Ask any German who was alive in the 1930's. It can happen and it will happen as long as people keep thinking none of it effects them and there's nothing they can do about it!

A stark reminder.

'ere will I see
where beauty may be
by her nature the earth provide

Alas she is there
in her dizzy afair
with the bloom and fawn she confide

a grace she possess
to the world she egress
its subjects overcome with esteem

For beauty must see
that a flower is she
and her charm punctuates like a dream

The grass is always greener...

So, as I'm sitting here in my front yard reading away on my laptop I glance over at my new flower bed and see something so horrifying that I can't believe it's not butter. In amongst the impatients I have planted are hundred if not thousands of tiny sprouts.

30 hours over three weekends it took me to turn an ugly weed infested pile of rocks into this beautiful flower bed. Just to see it turn into a weed infested flowerbed? UGH!!! It's almost like the dirt I bought was full of grass seed. I knew the gardening soil I had purchased from Blumels might have some seeds in it given it's initial outdoor state but never this. then I remember I was in such a hurry to finish that I purchased 4 bags of ... something ... from Walmart.

Reminder to self, don't get dirt from Walmart again.

I truely wish I could remember what the name of that stuff was. To be honest with ya, I think it's grass seed. Oh great, my beautiful flower garden is now going to be a grass garden of which I cannot cut without destroying the flowers that also lay within. How my neighbors will laugh at my first failed attempt, I'm thinking to myself. Fortunately my neighbors are pretty cool and most likely will give me a hand in laughing at myself. Then offer up a bit of advice about not buying dirt with grass seed in it and never buying anything dirt from Walmart. Especially without reading what I'm buyng.

Ah well, my first failed attempt at gardening. It just drives me to try again. I can't even begin to imagine how horriable the vegetable garden I am going to attempt next year will be.

Welp, TTFN.

Update: Here's the link to a pic. If you look all around the Impatient you will see little blades of something coming up. Those are EVERYWHERE!!! I'm guessing it's grass! *sadly shakes his head*

Our World

New age of the rat and roach

Falling of the bees
Fish are filled with mercury
Polar Bear is lost

Trees breathe CO2
Offer life giving O2

Greed driven obesity
World is full of sin

There's no beauty left
In a World we put to death
Corp'ral lazyness.

How do we begin?
